Band 6 Deputy Sister – Women’s Outpatients (37.5 hrs per week)

Responsibilities
* Provide a high standard of care, advice and support to patients and carers attending the Women’s Outpatients Department.
* Promote patient education and confidence in their treatment and recovery process.
* Deliver care for gynaecological conditions, including termination of pregnancy, and manage clinic patients and emergency referrals from GP, A&E.
* Participate in specialist clinics: Hysteroscopy, Colposcopy, Early Pregnancy, Termination of Pregnancy, Fertility, and General Gynaecology.
* Provide telephone advice and triage for early pregnancy referrals.
* Assist in staff absence management, roster management, recruitment and retention, performance reviews, budget management, and day‑to‑day running of the department in the absence of the Band 7 Sister.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with active registration.
* NST 307 or equivalent.
* Relevant training at level 2 or equivalent.
* ECDL or equivalent.
* Additional relevant training at level 3 or equivalent.
Experience
* Post‑registration patient care experience.
* Ability to manage a continually changing workload.
* Experience in teaching or mentoring.
Knowledge
* Continuing professional development and portfolio.
* Knowledge of the NMC code of conduct.
* Interpretation of clinical results.
* Leadership and clinical governance principles.
Skills and Aptitudes
* Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills.
* Extended clinical skills (e.g., venepuncture, ECG interpretation).
* Interpretation of baseline observations.
* Initiative and teamwork without close supervision.

£39,959 to £48,117 a year (pro‑rata)
