About the Role
As ZYMIX's first Content Manager, your core mission is to drive brand growth through compelling content. You will build ZYMIX's end-to-end content strategy — from community infiltration and campus penetration to creator partnerships — making content the primary engine for user acquisition and brand awareness.
You will report directly to the Marketing Director and work in close collaboration with the PR Manager and Social Media Manager to ensure ZYMIX's brand voice is consistent and mutually amplified across every channel.
1. Content Strategy (Core Priority)
* Define ZYMIX's overarching content strategy: content pillars, core narrative framework, channel-specific formats, and publishing cadence
* Build and maintain ZYMIX's Brand Voice Guidelines — the unified standard for all content produced across the team
* Collaborate with the Social Media Manager on content strategy and creative direction, providing recommendations and brief support to ensure platform content aligns with brand narrative; the Social Media Manager leads publishing and day-to-day platform operations — this is an equal, collaborative relationship
* Collaborate with the PR Manager to provide content support for media coverage and brand announcements, ensuring all external communications are consistent with the broader content strategy
* Collaborate with the SEO lead in the Growth Division to align brand content with organic search strategy — ensuring content delivers on both brand storytelling and traffic acquisition
2. Community Content & Infiltration
* Lead ZYMIX's content presence across the communities where young people actually spend time: Reddit, The Student Room (TSR), Discord, and other Gen-Z and student-focused platforms
* Develop a community content strategy that integrates authentically into existing conversations — building genuine brand presence rather than advertising
* Identify and monitor high-relevance community threads and topics; actively participate and guide discussions in a way that is natural and credible
* Build and manage a community content calendar; track performance and user sentiment across platforms
3. Campus Content Penetration
* Develop a campus content infiltration strategy covering student union channels, university societies, campus newsletters, and other high-frequency student touchpoints
* Collaborate with the Campus Ambassador Manager to equip student ambassadors with content toolkits — standardised assets, messaging guides, and shareable templates
* Create campus-specific content tied to key student moments: Freshers' Week, exam season, society events, and cultural calendars
* Explore and develop content partnerships with student media, university newspapers, and student-run podcasts and radio stations
4. KOL & KOC Partnerships as a plus
* Identify, vet, and onboard TikTok and Instagram creators aligned with ZYMIX's Gen-Z positioning across the UK market
* Build and maintain a tiered creator database — covering KOCs (1K–10K), mid-tier KOLs (10K–100K), and upper-mid KOLs (100K–500K)
What Success Looks Like in 6 Months
* Brand Voice Guidelines completed and adopted across the full marketing team
* Consistent, authentic ZYMIX content presence established across Reddit, TSR, and Discord — with measurable brand impressions and referral traffic
* 5+ campus newsletter and student community content partnerships live
* Creator database built with 50+ active KOL/KOC partnerships
* KOL-driven content contributing a measurable share of app installs (target: 20%+ of organic acquisition)
Who You Are
* 3–5 years of experience in content marketing, with strong content strategy capability and hands-on writing ability — strategy and craft are both core to this role, not optional
* Deep understanding of UK Gen-Z content consumption habits; familiar with Reddit, TSR, Discord, and student community ecosystems
* Proven experience building a brand content system from scratch — you can own the full journey from strategy to execution
* Experience in KOL/KOC partnerships; you know the UK creator landscape and know what a brief looks like that creators will actually follow
* Comfortable collaborating across PR, social media, and other cross-functional teams; skilled at building content consensus across multiple stakeholders
* Data-driven — you measure what matters and can distinguish between vanity metrics and metrics that move the business
* Thrives in a 0-to-1 startup environment; you build systems, you don't wait for them
* Bonus: familiarity with campus media and student union channels; experience with in-app UGC product mechanics
