Overview
An opportunity at Stewarton House, Wishaw, for a Specialist Occupational Therapist who will manage a specialist caseload, use evidence-based practice and person-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings. You will provide day-to-day supervision for occupational therapy staff, support staff and students and provide specialist clinical intervention and consultation to occupational therapy staff and other disciplines.
Duties may vary depending on the care group / clinical specialty / assigned area of work.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own specialist caseload and provide day-to-day supervision for OT staff, support staff and students.
* Use evidence-based practice and person-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in hospital and community settings.
* Provide specialist clinical intervention and consultation to occupational therapy staff and other disciplines.
* Follow clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty / area of practice and lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Demonstrate leadership in service delivery and coordinate day-to-day operations.
* Utilise information technology in routine practice.
* Hold a full UK driving licence where required.

Qualifications and experience
* Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
* Educated to degree level
* Postgraduate expertise within the speciality / area of practice
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, policies and procedures
* Evidence of leadership skills to enable day-to-day management of service delivery
* Continuous Professional Development in the area of specialty (study days/courses/postgraduate qualification)
* Excellent team-working, leadership skills, and ability to motivate others
* Demonstrate initiative, excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
* Effective time management
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Car driver with full valid UK driving licence
Desirable: Practice education training and experience within the specific care group/speciality; evidence of audit, critical appraisal, reflective practice and/or research skills; knowledge of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency team working practices.
Contract and working pattern
* Contract type: Permanent
* Employment type: Part-time
* Hours: 30 hours per week; part-time post, salary pro-rata
Location
Integrated Rehabilitation Team within Stewarton House, Wishaw. Working pattern: 24 hours/7 days per week.
