An opportunity has arisen to recruit an experienced enthusiastic Commercial & Workbase Tutor/ IQA to mentor, coach and assess students undertaking commercial courses and Electrical Installation Apprenticeships at Chesterfield College whilst supporting the team with Internal Quality Assurance processes.
The successful candidate will be required to liaise with internal teams to plan, prepare and deliver commercial courses to upskill learners within the Electrical Installation Industry to meet our employer’s needs.
Where required they will also manage a caseload of learners through their Apprenticeship Standard carrying out workplace visits providing coaching, mentoring and assessment for successful completion of their chosen qualification. They will work with the learner/employer and internal departments to ensure Functional Skills and all elements of the apprenticeship are completed to ensure timely success for the Learner. The applicant will be responsible for the whole learner journey including advice and guidance, enrolment onto the correct programme of learning, delivery and employer liaison.
Applicants must be occupationally competent electricians. Evidence which can support this, is by the applicant holding a relevant electrotechnical NVQ L3 and/or having registration with the JIB as ‘Approved Electrician’ status. Applicants must also hold L3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations and 18th Edition Wiring Regs. Other electrical qualifications utilised within the industry would be advantageous.
They must hold the Assessors A1 Award (TDLB D32/D33) or TAQA 301 Award and the V1 Award (TDLB D34) TAQA 401 Award. Training/Teaching/Basic Skills qualifications would be an advantage, although not essential.
Good administration, interpersonal and IT skills with a professional outlook are essential. Flexibility to work additional hours when required and undertake substantial travel is also essential.
