Overview
My client is looking to recuit Commissioning Engineer specialising in heating and ventilation systems to support a growing portfolio of commercial and industrial projects across the South West. This role will involve commissioning, testing, and validating HVAC systems to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. They would also look at someone junior with the right attitude that is looking to move into this area.

Key Responsibilities
Commission heating and ventilation systems, including LTHW, CHW, AHUs, FCUs, pressurisation units, and BMS interfaces
Carry out pre-commissioning checks, functional performance testing, and system balancing
Read and interpret mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
Liaise with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients
Identify and rectify faults, ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely
Complete commissioning documentation, reports, and handover packs
Ensure compliance with CIBSE guidelines, BSRIA standards, and health & safety regulations
Support witnessing and demonstration of systems to consultants and end clientsRequirements
Proven experience commissioning heating and ventilation systems in commercial environments
Strong understanding of HVAC principles, controls, and BMS integration
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or HVAC
Full UK driving licence
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detailDesirable:
Experience working on large-scale commercial or public sector projects
