We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Depot Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality, compliance, and operational excellence across our network of service centres (depots) and pallet manufacturing partners.
This role plays a vital part in maintaining quality standards, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. Working closely with internal teams, depot operators, suppliers, and customers, you will identify issues, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the network.
Key Responsibilities
Depot Performance & Control
* Monitor depot performance against key KPIs, including damage rates, stock accuracy, repair rates, and productivity.
* Conduct regular site inspections and visits across assigned depots.
* Organise and oversee periodic stock counts and inventory audits.
* Ensure compliance with PEFC, ISPM15, and SHEQ standards.
* Act as the primary contact for Health & Safety matters within depots.
* Monitor pallet destruction activities and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company procedures.
Audit & Compliance
* Carry out regular operational and compliance audits across depots and manufacturing sites.
* Identify non-conformances and support the implementation of corrective actions.
* Produce detailed audit reports, outlining findings, recommendations, and action plans.
* Support investigations relating to customer complaints, quality concerns, and operational incidents.
* Conduct quality inspections on newly manufactured / Repaired pallets to ensure specification compliance.
Customer & Depot Support
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, depots, and operational teams.
* Support the onboarding of new customers and depots, ensuring adherence to company standards and processes.
* Deliver training on quality standards, operational procedures, and internal systems.
* Provide guidance and expertise on pallet sorting, repair, handling, and quality requirements.
Administration & Continuous Improvement
* Complete reports and maintain accurate records using internal systems such as SAP and VISA.
* Coordinate, monitor, and follow up on action plans across depots and suppliers.
* Support the launch and integration of new depots, including training on systems and operational processes.
* Promote best practice sharing and contribute ideas to improve tools, processes, and ways of working.

Requirements
Essential
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience within logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, quality, or a related industrial environment.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
* Knowledge of quality assurance, compliance, auditing, or operational control processes.
* Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and business systems such as SAP or equivalent.
* Fluent in the local language with a working knowledge of English.
Desirable
* Degree, apprenticeship, or vocational qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
* Experience within pallet pooling, packaging, recycling, or transport operations.
* Knowledge of PEFC, ISPM15, SHEQ, or other relevant industry standards.
Working Pattern & Travel
This is a field-based role requiring regular travel throughout the LPR network. A dedicated geographical area will be assigned, with occasional travel to other regions for audits, knowledge sharing, and team meetings.
Overnight stays may be required to complete duties efficiently and are not expected to exceed 10 days per quarter following the initial training period.
