Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Location: Resource Base in West Bromwich Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a resource base in West Bromwich. This is a full-time position supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs. Working closely with the class teachers and SENCO, you will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and structured environment. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills An understanding of autism and/or complex needs (desirable) Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are advantageous but not essential Safeguarding Statement This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
