Mazco Recruitment is partnering with a well-established aerospace manufacturer in Basildon to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector. This is a key position within the quality department, responsible for ensuring all aerospace components and assemblies meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
You will play a hands-on role in inspection and verification activities, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support precision engineering and continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities
*
Inspect aerospace components, sub-assemblies, and finished products in line with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

Carry out precision measurements using micrometres, callipers, gauges, CMMs, and other metrology equipment.
*
Identify, document, and report non-conformances, supporting corrective and preventative actions.
*
Review and validate engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and quality procedures.
*
Work closely with manufacturing teams to monitor processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
*
Maintain accurate inspection records, ensuring full traceability and regulatory compliance.
*
Assist in training and mentoring junior inspectors and production personnel.
*
Support root cause analysis and quality investigations.
*
Participate in internal and external audits in line with ISO and customer requirements.
Requirements
*
Minimum of 5 years’ UK experience within engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within aerospace or precision engineering.
*
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
*
Good working knowledge of inspection techniques, metrology equipment, and CMM processes.
*
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*
Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
*
Experience working to ISO 9001 and ideally AS9100 standards.

Proactive and adaptable approach within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
