The Estates Maintenance Department at University Hospital’s Bristol and Weston NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity arise for an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing skilled tradesperson based in Bristol on a fixed term basis.

With a starting salary of £31,045 pro rata, plus overtime and unsocial enhancements, and a great annual leave and pension offer there isn't a better time to consider joining the team!

You’ll join an experienced and dedicated mechanical team, working as part of a larger estate’s workforce of around 100 people.

If you’re looking to expand your skills as a Plumber and move into commercial buildings – this is an ideal opportunity for you! We provide an extensive training package to support you in understanding a complex healthcare estate.

The ideal candidate will have:-

1. Experience of working as a domestic or commercial plumber in any setting
2. A City & Guild Mechanical/Plumbing qualification at Level 3 or equivalent
3. Have a desire to work in a large healthcare environment
4. React promptly to day-to-day breakdowns of plumbing and mechanical equipment/assets ensuring response and completion times meet the Trust KPI’s
5. Carry out wide range of mechanical & plumbing repairs
6. Undertake routine maintenance (PPM) of equipment/assets ensuring all work is logged using the PDA on the Agility system to meet the Trust’s KPI’s.
7. Carry out minor installation work.
8. To physically carry out manual work using safe working practice
9. Interpret and work from instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to key trade, with minimal supervision
10. To become certified as a competent person in a discipline within your skill set.
11. Pass on knowledge to apprentices and work experience students
12. Take part in out of hours on call rota.

14. An attractive salary of £30,090.17 - £32,674.17 per annum basic + unsocial hours payments for evening and weekend working
