Salary: £57,000 - £64,000 (non-London) / Up to £70,000 (London) + Benefits + Relocation Support
An award-winning digital consultancy is seeking a Senior UX Designer to join its growing design practice. Renowned for delivering complex, human-centred services across the public and private sectors, this organisation partners with government departments, major institutions, and socially impactful enterprises. With an Agile-first, user-led approach, they are looking for an experienced consultant who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
This role is perfect for candidates with experience in user-centred design, ideally with exposure to Government Digital Services (GDS) frameworks or similar complex service environments.
The Role:
As a Senior UX Consultant, you'll shape the future of services that affect real people. You will lead UX efforts across digital transformation projects-guiding teams through discovery, testing assumptions, prototyping solutions, and helping clients embed user-focused thinking at the heart of their organisation.
Key Responsibilities: Lead Agile teams to create services that are intuitive, accessible, and meet user needs
Champion UX best practices, advocating for inclusive and accessible design
Translate user research into impactful design decisions
Mentor and line manage junior designers, supporting capability growth
Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, while confidently guiding them through the UX design process
Participate in recruitment, pre-sales activities, and thought leadership (e.g. blogs, events)
About You: Proven UX design expertise, with a strong and varied portfolio (link required at application)
Experience designing end-to-end services within multidisciplinary Agile teams
Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage challenging conversations
Previous line management or mentoring experience is highly desirable
Consultancy experience or working with government/public sector clients is a strong advantage
