A successful fresh produce business supplying high-quality salads and vegetables to major UK retailers, food service providers, and international markets.
The Role
We are seeking a Customer Account Manager to grow and maintain strong relationships with our customers while ensuring they receive high-quality products and services. This role will involve working alongside procurement, NPD, technical and production teams in house.
Key responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day activities of assigned customer accounts and serve as the primary point of contact.
* Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships, ensuring timely delivery of products and services.
* Generate sales opportunities, including upselling and cross-selling, and identify growth opportunities with existing clients.
* Forecast and track client account metrics to support business planning and decision-making.
* Coordinate with colleagues and the sales team to ensure consistent service and pursue new client opportunities.
* Oversee procurement, inventory management, and supplier relations, including contract negotiations.
* Support new product development (NPD), promotions, merchandising, and packaging initiatives.
* Conduct category reviews with customers, analysing market, consumer, and food trends.
* Prepare budgets, cost analyses, reports, and undertake ad-hoc tasks; ability to travel UK and internationally as required.
Candidate Profile
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role with a professional attitude and appearance.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to set and manage expectations.
* Self-motivated, able to work independently, and a collaborative team player.
* Positive, can-do attitude with enthusiasm for driving change.
* Ability to build rapport and maintain trust with colleagues at all levels.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and capable of producing reports in Excel.
* Fluent in English and willing to develop skills and enhance individual knowledge.
