 
        Job Title: Service Architect Location: Remote/Corsham 2-3 days per week Duration: Until 3/03/2026 with likely extension Rate: Up to £750 via an approved umbrella company Role Overview The project ensures coherence and assurance across all design activities within the Platform. As a Service Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining, advising, and assuring service requirements for the platform, working closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and Front Line Command Users. Your focus will be on embedding supportability and service features into the design lifecycle, ensuring they are implemented and continuously improved. Key Responsibilities Service Requirement Definition Engage with Front Line Command Users to understand service expectations and current support structures. Translate service requirements into actionable guidance for Design Office Architects. Provide governance on service aspects across the programme. Through-Life Management Ensure Secure by Design (SbD) principles are met in collaboration with security teams. Define service elements for: Business continuity Monitoring Maintenance Backup/Restore Security patching Availability & resilience Operational support and RACI alignment Service Design & Assurance Define service roles and responsibilities. Establish service acceptance criteria. Guide architects to ensure designs meet service standards. Next Generation OpNet System (SYS03) Act as Service Architect for SYS03. Define service wrap, acceptance criteria, and through-life management requirements. Collaborate with the Service Team to evolve service expectations. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer Produce service documentation and knowledge transfer materials. Define SLAs and KPIs.Essential Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in Service Architecture, Service Management, or requirements development. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. ITIL v4 Foundation certification. Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project. Experience delivering ICS solutions. Deep understanding of service design and transition. Familiarity with SLAs, OLAs, and enterprise service tools (Helix, Remedy, ServiceNow). Skilled in process mapping and modelling. Experience designing for resilience and security. Current SC clearance.Desirable Skills & Experience Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence). TOGAF certification. Experience as a Service Architect within UK Defence. Technical understanding of military deployed CIS and infrastructure. Experience with secure ICS environments. Exposure to agile delivery methodologies and transitions
