Responsibilities
* Assemble products as per the production schedule with focus on quality, cost and schedule.
* Carry out a range of tasks including Mechanical Assembly, Electrical testing, basic soldering, product packaging, paint preparation, stores and material handling.
* Participate in continuous improvement projects.
* Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering & management to develop team working and ensure safety, cost, quality and schedule targets are met.
* Ensure all tools, work instructions and equipment are maintained to the correct standard.
* Maintain cleanliness of assemblies, workstations and general working area.
* Contribute to individual career and development plans as part of the e-HR policy.
* Operate in accordance with departmental control procedures and maintain records of production builds.
* Support other areas of the site as required to achieve production schedules.
About You / Qualifications
* Previous experience of mechanical or process assembly in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
* Reliable team player capable of working on own initiative within a team.
* Good manual dexterity and ability to work with complex assemblies.
* Ability to use small hand tools and measuring equipment (e.g., feeler gauges, clock gauges, torque tools).
* Ability to follow manufacturing instruction sheets and read basic engineering drawings.
* Knowledge and experience of Lean manufacturing/Business improvement techniques.
Security and Compliance
Due to the nature of work at Thales, many roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held; otherwise, the successful applicant must undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some cases, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
