Job Description
A specialist SEN school is looking for an enthusiastic PLMD TA to join their team of dedicated staff in September 2026. The role is full-time position in a fantastic school based in South Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and make a real difference within a caring and inclusive school community.
The school supports pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and complex autism needs within a welcoming and inclusive environment. This role requires an individual with previous experience working in SEND and care settings, along with a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to providing tailored support and sensory-based communication strategies.
The Role
1. Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment tailored to the pupils individual needs.
2. Assisting the pupils with personal care.
3. Support pupils with individual PLMD needs, encouraging progress in both learning, wellbeing & behavioural needs.
4. Work within school hours of 8:30am–4:00pm, with timetabled teaching typically between 10:00am and 2:00pm
5. Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate
6. NCFE, CACHE Level 2 or 3, Health & Social Care are also highly desired.
7. Preferably experienced in working with PMLD, severe learning difficulties (SLD), or complex physical disabilities in an educational or care setting.
8. Has a resilient, and adaptable approach to work.
