The job itself
Beverley Minster C of E Primary School are looking for an individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children to join our friendly and dedicated team as an apprentice Nursery Nurse who will play a vital role in supporting and assisting the teaching, learning and care of children within our school.
The working hours are from 08:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday during the school term. Your actual salary will be £17,804 per annum (based on 32.5 hours per week). This role is term - time only and is fixed-term until 31 December 2026.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities associated with this role involve facilitating the participation and learning of pupils either individually or in small groups, helping to build confidence and self-esteem, including but not limited to:
1. Clarifying and explaining instructions.
2. Ensuring pupils are able to use equipment and materials provided, including, moving and handling to meet a childs individual needs.
3. Assisting in identified areas, e.g. language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation, the use of ICT, social skills and EAL.
4. Meeting the physical needs of pupils as required whilst encouraging independence.
5. Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO about individual needs.
6. Developing appropriate resources to support the pupil(s).

The successful applicant will have good literacy and numeracy skills, a willingness to work towards an early years apprenticeship standard and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
