We are pleased to advertise an exciting opportunity for 2 Social Workers to join Rutland County Council’s Adult Social Care Contact and Response Team. In both roles you will work as part of a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, helping ensure that people contacting Adult Social Care receive a timely, person-centred and proportionate response.

The Contact and Response Team sits at the front door of Adult Social Care, providing advice, triage, assessment and short-term intervention to adults who may require support. The team plays a key role in promoting independence, prevention and early intervention across the Rutland community.


About the roles…

1. Full time Social Worker – 2 year fixed term contract working 37 hours per week
2. Part time Social Worker – maternity cover for 12 months working 26.25 hours per week


In these roles, duties include:

* Undertake Care Act assessments and develop outcome-focused support plans
* Provide information, advice and signposting to individuals, carers and professionals
* Triage referrals and contribute to timely decision-making within a busy front door service
* Complete Mental Capacity Assessments, Best Interest decisions and Decision Support Tools
* Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, following Rutland safeguarding procedures
* Facilitate the use of personal budgets and direct payments
* Work collaboratively with health colleagues and other partner agencies
* Maintain accurate and high-quality case recording in line with service standards


About You…

To be successful in a role you will be:

* Qualified to at least Level 2 and registered with Social Work England
* Experienced and reflective
* Confident working within a front door Adult Social Care Service
* Able to make timely and proportionate decisions to support adults
* Able to manage risk effectively

The successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS and social Work England registration are paid by us.

Please note you will need a full driving licence to enable you to travel across the county.

Regular supervision, informal peer support and opportunities to develop your skills are an important part of how we work.

Our Contact and Response Team plays a vital role as the front door to Adult Social Care, supporting people at the earliest opportunity and ensuring they receive the right response at the right time.

The Social Worker Contract & Response interviews will be held face to face at the council offices on 27 April 2026.
