Location & Hours
Location: Fareham, Hampshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible opportunity with core hours required.

Salary: Competitive (illustrative only).

Responsibilities
* Lead and manage transport planning projects, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timelines.
* Prepare, review, and approve technical reports such as Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and Technical Notes.
* Oversee and support the production of technical drawings and transport‑related designs.
* Apply and review transport modelling techniques to assess trip and distribution.
* Manage and mentor team members, including training, delegation, and performance appraisals.
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships.
* Project‑manage schemes, including resource planning and coordination.
* Prepare and review appeal documentation, including Statements of Case and Proofs of Evidence.
* Act as an expert witness at appeal hearings and public inquiries where required.
* Attend and lead meetings with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
* Prepare, review, and issue proposals and tender submissions.
* Identify and pursue business development opportunities – networking and winning new work.
* Support and contribute to marketing initiatives and company promotion.
Qualifications
* Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
* Membership of a relevant professional organisation.
* Minimum of 7 years’ experience in transport planning.
* Extensive practical and theoretical knowledge of transport planning principles.
* Experience managing, training, and mentoring staff.
* Proven experience in project management, including budget and programme control.
* Experience preparing and reviewing key documents such as Transport Assessments, Statements, Travel Plans, Technical Notes.
* Experience with appeal documentation (Statements of Case, Common Ground, Proof of Evidence).
* Experience acting as an expert witness at hearings or public inquiries.
* Experience in business development, including winning work and networking.
