Overview
As a Southern Conductor you will enjoy a rich and varied role with a multitude of responsibilities. From providing exceptional levels of customer service to dispatching trains in accordance with our operating procedures, no two days are ever the same. As a member of GTR's On Board team, conductors will be highly visible to our customers, regularly patrolling trains, performing ticket checks, providing onward journey information, managing delay and disruption, and offering additional assistance and reassurance as needed. Conductors are trained to undertake their duties professionally and confidently, ensuring journeys are safe and comfortable. They will be experts in the customer environment of the trains on which they work, able to quickly identify faults and take action to ensure swift resolution. Conductors work on shift rotations which may require you to finish and start early in the morning; you will therefore need to be able to reach the depot for all hours of the day.
