Main Responsibilities and Duties
Clinical Responsibilities
Contributes to a good working environment in which patients receive a high standard of care.
Be able to participate in identifying and educating newly diagnosed patients and patients who have recently started dialysis acutely.
Is an effective and consistent team member and ensures that communication is effective between patients, relatives and members of the MD team. Communicates with staff in other areas of the renal unit. Cascades information to relevant groups of staff.
Is competent in basic IT skills.
Ensures that care is patient-focused and that patient dignity and privacy are maintained at all times
Practises in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and other appropriate NMC guidelines
Ensures due regard is given to the customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients and colleagues and that equal opportunities are practised.
Demonstrates good leadership skills and ensures that communication is effective between patient’s relatives and members of the multi-disciplinary team and community services.
Takes responsibility for the ward/department for rostered shifts including the deployment and supervision of staff
Main duties of the job
Delivering Renal replacement therapy education, Intravenous iron infusion, Hepatitis B vaccine administration, Monitoring and audit blood results for anaemia management and EPO monitoring, contacting patients for advanced kidney care clinic

After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.
