Abbey Veterinary Group are looking for an enthusiastic and driven experienced *mixed *veterinary surgeon to join our lovely supportive team. We are proud to provide our own out-of-hours service, a week of nights followed by a week off, as well as your 33 days holiday! We have two practices located in Paisley and Greenock, the surrounding areas have good transport links to Glasgow with easy access to many of the beautiful lochs and Munros to enjoy on your generous time off. With a 44 year range of experience in our team there is always someone available for advice and support on call, we have colleagues working towards equine and medicine certificates as well as an ophthalmology certificate holder. We have all the usual apparatus and offer laparoscopic procedures. As a practice we are 80% small and 20% large but our mixed vets have a range around 70/30 split depending on preferences. We appreciate people have biases and once a baseline level is achieved we are happy to accommodate them so this is flexible. As a Part of Vet partners we have a large support network out with our own practice which allows opportunity for additional training and resource sharing.*The Rota:*Our out of hours rota is covered by our wonderful team of mixed vets. Weekend work consists of a first on, second on and third on weekend roughly 4 weeks apart. First on is a full weekend 1st on call, followed by weeknights 5pm-8am with the day times off. Come the weekend you finish at 7 am with a whole week off work to spend as you wish! After your second on weekend you get a late start on a Monday (1pm) and the following Friday off. And to make it a little sweeter we pay you a locum shift for your third on weekend which is a Saturday at the practice 08.30-3pm or you can get a day off in lou.During the week as a full time role you would work 3 x 08.30-5pm shifts and 2 x 08.30-7pm shifts. One night a week you will cover 2nd on call over night which is coupled with a late start the following morning (11am). We really value your on call work and like to reward it with time back.*Successful Candidate:*Experience preferred, but applicants with a range of mixed experience for a full or part time position would be considered.
