Job Title: Behaviour & Pastoral Mentor Location: Secondary School – East Grinstead Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour & Pastoral Mentor to support students in a secondary school setting in East Grinstead. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, or pastoral support, helping them to engage positively with learning and school life. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural and pastoral support Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social skills Build positive, trusting relationships with students Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leads Help promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment Essential Requirements: Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (mandatory) Experience working with secondary-aged students (desirable) Strong communication and behaviour management skills Calm, patient, and resilient approach Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing What We Offer: Consistent, full-time school hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30–3:30) Supportive school environment Opportunity to make a real difference in students’ lives
