The role also includes contract management, critical spares oversight, and leading Management of Change processes under PS/5 at PDH as well as driving standardisation at other SGN owned Network Entry Facilities across the network as required.
In addition, you will undertake Safe Control of Operations (SCO) responsibilities while balancing commercial and operational requirements. You will also oversee out-of-hours and emergency response arrangements, including competency management, standby rotas, alarm response (INE3), and third-party biomethane operational support.
To be considered for this role you will need a full valid UK drivers licence.

1. Ensure the safe delivery of all scheduled routine and reactive maintenance at the Portsdown Hill biomethane facility.
2. Conduct safety and quality audits and inspections of internal teams and contractors to maintain high operational and personal safety standards.
3. Lead and deliver engineering projects and asset improvement initiatives to enhance the Portsdown Hill biomethane site.
4. Drive team performance through a proactive, visible leadership style.
5. Provide technical engineering support and guidance to internal stakeholders.
6. Respond to and investigate operational interruptions and reported incidents.
What you will need
7. An engineering background, preferably Mechanical or Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) within a regulated or safety-critical industry.
8. Or experience in contractual management including logistics, resource planning and achieving customer excellence within an Engineering/Operational field.
9. Experience leading operational or engineering teams in a safety-critical environment.
10. A strong commitment to operational excellence and personal safety leadership.
11. An understanding of financial approvals, budgeting, and cost control related to operational and project engineering activities.
