Job Responsibility:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for both full and part-time Biomedical Science Assistants within the department of Blood Sciences. As a suitably trained individual, you will work in a busy, modern laboratory undertaking data entry and initial processing of patient samples, supporting Associate practitioners and Biomedical Scientists. Duties also include answering requests and providing test results by telephone and additional clerical duties.
Key responsibilities include:
* Proficiency in the use of keyboard, together with good communication and team-working skills
* Working variable shifts, including twilights, weekends, and Bank Holidays
* Pre-analytical processing of samples, including receipt, preparation, and processing
* Dealing with direct queries from medical staff, nursing staff, and other service users
* Assisting in maintaining high scientific and technical standards
* Promoting and maintaining a high standard of relevant education and training
