Job Description:
Baysgarth School is a comprehensive school built on strong family values, where everyone is seen, recognised, and valued. It is among the most successful and oversubscribed schools in the region.
Our students are amazing—intelligent, articulate, funny, welcoming, and appreciative of great teaching. They deserve the best, and we are committed to providing it in every aspect of their school lives.
We seek outstanding staff who are dedicated, passionate, dynamic, caring, and inspiring. We believe we have a world-class team and are looking to add to it.
We are currently seeking an inspirational Design and Technology (DT) Technician to join our renowned team. Our DT team is nationally recognized in engineering and Greenpower initiatives, including hosting the UK's first school-based Test Track and the upcoming DT Conference. Our success is driven by a passion to nurture future engineers, chefs, and fashion designers.
The school boasts outstanding facilities across all areas, reflecting our commitment to providing the best conditions for learning.
The successful applicant should be ambitious for both students and themselves, capable of supporting the entire DT curriculum, and passionate about engineering. Support for extracurricular activities related to Greenpower and STEM is also essential.
This role offers valuable experience working with young people and could lead to our teacher training pathway or other development opportunities as the school's STEM program expands over the next four years.
We believe school is not just about academics; every staff member is expected to uphold strong inclusive values and play a significant pastoral role, ensuring all students feel cared for. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with students and helping shape them into successful adults.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers must share this commitment. The successful candidate will need to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure.
If you are inspired by this opportunity, we encourage you to apply. Further details and an application form are available on the school’s website. For inquiries or to arrange a visit, please contact our Head of DT, Ben Wilson.
As an employer, we promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expect the same from our employees and volunteers. Recruitment will follow our safer recruitment procedures, including reference checks and a DBS check.
