We are seeking an outgoing and approachable Library Assistant to join our team in providing a modern library service to the community. Responsibilities include delivering children’s activities such as Bookbug sessions, Chatterbooks, reader development activities, supporting public access to IT, providing general front-line customer service, and operating the library management systems.
Applicants should be educated to a good general standard, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and have relevant customer service experience working with diverse customers. Good IT skills are essential, along with the ability to lift and carry stock. An interest in books and reading is desirable. You must be mobile within North Lanarkshire to travel to other work locations if required.
You will need to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check before starting in this role.
