Salary: £41,086 per annum
The Bedford College Group is transforming how we attract, recruit and onboard talent. We are seeking a Talent Acquisition & Vetting Manager to take operational ownership of this function, ensuring a high-quality, compliant and efficient service is delivered across the Group. Everything we do is focused on supporting high-quality student outcomes. Our approach to Talent Acquisition ensures we attract and appoint the right people to deliver an excellent learning experience across the Group. Working closely with the Group Head of Talent Acquisition, you will translate strategic direction into effective operational delivery, taking responsibility for service performance, workforce delivery and the day-to-day management of the function.
Role Overview
This role is focused on operational delivery, performance and control of the Talent Acquisition, Vetting and Onboarding service. You will be accountable for ensuring recruitment activity is delivered effectively, meets agreed standards and timescales, and supports curriculum delivery across the Group. You will lead the Specialist team, manage workload and priorities, and act as the escalation point for complex or high-risk matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Accountability for the operational delivery and performance of Talent Acquisition, Vetting and Onboarding activity
* Leadership and performance management of the Talent Acquisition & Vetting Specialist team
* Oversight of service delivery against SLAs and KPIs, taking corrective action where required
* Accountability for safeguarding compliance, Right to Work, DBS and Single Central Record accuracy
* Acting as the escalation point for complex, sensitive or high-risk cases
* Ensuring recruitment activity is prioritised effectively to support curriculum delivery and student experience
* Translating workforce priorities into clear operational delivery plans
* Driving proactive talent pipeline activity to support workforce needs
* Leading continuous improvement of recruitment and onboarding processes
* Providing performance, risk and capacity insight to the Group Head of Talent Acquisition
What We Are Looking For
* Significant experience in Talent Acquisition, recruitment, vetting or onboarding, ideally within a regulated environment
* Proven experience of leading and managing a team
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Right to Work and DBS requirements
* Experience managing service delivery through SLAs, KPIs or performance measures
* Ability to manage operational risk, make decisions and handle complex cases
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience within Further Education is desirable.
