SUMMARY : Delivery drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of Thrislington products within the UK market. Drivers are to follow a specified schedule and identify the most efficient routes to avoid delays. You must conduct regular vehicle checks and maintenance to keep company vehicles in good working condition. The individual must be a team player and work in a cooperative and supportive manner. At all times, you must represent the company professionally and work in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position reports to the Logistics Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Verifies and confirms that all manufactured products listed on packing slip is loaded and delivered to the job site. Ensures the goods are loaded in an organised manner in accordance with the delivery schedule. Determine the shortest and best routes to reach job site location, accounting for roadblocks and traffic, by using GPS navigation apps and knowledge of the area to deliver goods on time. Completes regular maintenance checks on delivery vans and informs management of any issues. Requires driving in inclement weather conditions. Ensure products are handled and delivered to the job site without damage. Interacts with both internal and external customers in a friendly and professional manner. Unloads goods at the job site and coordinates with contractors and or clients to sign the necessary paperwork as per standard operating procedures. Reports and documents any changes or updates to delivery route as required. Tracks mileage and maintains delivery logs. Participate and submit new and improved work methods in alignment with the Suggested Method Improvement program. Follow safe working policies and procedures at all times. Report all hazards, unsafe acts and conditions. Complies with wearing assigned PPE designated for the job. Communicates with logistics manager of issues that can impact the delivery of goods to the job. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and independently. A clean driving record and a Full U.K. Drivers license EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: GCSEs education (English and Maths) Require a UK Drivers license, category B 3-5 years experience preferred An ability to concentrate and focus Understands road safety and all driving regulations Knowledge of the area is an assets Works well independently and is self-disciplined The ability to remain calm under pressure Ability to drive long distances Good communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent organizational and time management skills Adaptable and flexible Must be able to identify and resolve problems using sound judgement Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and in a team environment with both internal and external customers. Beginner level MS office Knowledgeable with handheld devices and relevant electronic applications LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to carry out ongoing manual work, and upon occasions lift goods up to 25kg.
