We are working with a fast-growing UK research and technology company in the Greater Cambridge area who are seeking a highly organised and proactive Commercial Operations Coordinator. This newly created role will sit at the heart of the business, taking ownership of developing, managing, and optimising key commercial and operational processes as the company continues to scale. It is ideally suited to someone who thrives on building structure, driving consistency, and implementing effective ways of working in fast-moving environments.
In this position, you will design and roll out new operational and commercial workflows, ensuring teams understand and follow agreed processes. You will develop and document company policies, deliver process training across the business, and establish data tracking, reporting structures, and KPI cycles to support performance management and informed decision-making. A major part of the role will involve supporting the development of an ISO 9001-aligned quality management system, preparing internal audit processes, and monitoring ongoing compliance standards.
You will also play a key role in designing and coordinating a company-wide risk management framework, introducing structured approaches to stakeholder engagement and communication, and managing stakeholder databases to support smooth cross-team collaboration. In addition, the role will oversee logistics processes relating to travel and event attendance, manage key supplier and vendor relationships in these areas, and establish and maintain compliant export control processes as the business operates in regulated environments.
The ideal candidate will be highly capable at designing, documenting, and implementing new processes, with excellent organisational and project management skills. You will be a confident communicator, comfortable training teams and building buy-in at all levels, with exceptional attention to detail and a strong approach to data management and reporting. The ability to interpret regulatory frameworks such as ISO 9001 or export control requirements is important, alongside a proactive, solution-focused mindset and a genuine interest in continuous improvement.
This is a cross-functional role requiring close collaboration with commercial, operations, finance, engineering, and leadership teams, so you must be comfortable working with diverse stakeholders and influencing without formal authority.
The position is office-based in Saffron Walden, working five days per week. As a newly created role, it offers a genuine opportunity to shape the core operational foundations of a growing technology business and play a central part in driving its commercial maturity.
If you are process-driven, highly organised, and motivated by building sustainable operational frameworks in a scaling company, we would love to hear from you.
