The Estates Intelligence division specialises in enabling clients to make informed decisions about the operational and strategic management of their estates and asset portfolios. Teams utilise the ‘6 As’ Methodology and the ‘Viaverse’ platform to deliver business benefit through aggregation of data, automation of transactional processing and operational data flows, assurance of process and data integrity, audit of processing and data, and analytics to offer management information and insight. This enhances asset management across a client’s portfolio.
About the Role
The role is for an experienced Data Warehouse Technical Lead to develop, support and evolve a critical on‑premise ‘common data environment’ (CDE) within a wider integrated solution.
The role involves designing, building, testing, supporting and evolving the CDE, ensuring it receives data from multiple KBR system and Client System sources, structures that data correctly and efficiently, and enables the creation and publication of paginated reports into the Cloud and Power BI dashboards via a Gateway link into the KBR MS Azure instance. The CDE will serve various organisational information needs, including a KBR team dedicated to providing analytics and insight on client estates.
Role Responsibilities
* Specifying high‑level and low‑level data models, ETL plans, and data warehouse designs.
* Building and unit‑testing data warehouses as part of the integrated solution.
* Developing a suite of paginated reports and dashboards to deliver multi‑organisational management information requirements.
* Assisting project‑management activities in planning, effort estimating, and progress reporting.
* Supporting and developing build solutions as part of BAU service management.
* Working with the FMI BI/MI Lead to agree an MI Operating Model that ensures future MI requirements for stakeholders are captured, assessed, developed, and delivered in a structured, auditable, and repeatable manner.
* Collaborating with the FMI Technical Product Owner.
* Advising on and contributing toward the development of a strategic Technical Product set, especially the data and reporting layer strategy.
* Supporting associated technical transformation/mobilisation projects through all phases from definition through development to close.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
* Experience developing, deploying and supporting multi‑data‑source SQL data warehouses in an on‑premise environment.
* Experience with the full Microsoft Stack – SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.
* Experience creating, documenting, and developing data models to deliver management information outcomes.
* Experience developing ETL procedures from multiple data sources to a single destination.
* Adept at building collaborative technical and business relationships to deliver outputs and outcomes.
* Experienced in authoring technical documentation and producing clear, maintainable artefacts.
* Demonstrated technical leadership: ability to understand technical trends, translate them into tactical and strategic advantages, and explain technology to non‑technical audiences.
* Experience in a second‑line technical resolver support environment, identifying technical issues and managing them from root cause to rectification.
* Experience using Paginated Reports for Power BI to deploy reports into Azure for management information consumers.
* Experience creating on‑prem data warehouses that provide data to a Cloud Azure instance, Power BI, or SharePoint.
* Experience working with Project and Programme Management environments, assisting in creating detailed plans that are accurate, viable, and maintainable.
Desirable Skills
* Experience working in an FM Integrator Environment, especially creating ETL routines from Concept Evolution to Data Warehouse.
* Experience creating ETL routines from client data sources where data quality or integrity may be an issue.
* Experience with VBA and .BAT programming.
* Experience with scrum teams and sprint ceremonies.
* Experience leading or contributing to technical and data governance.
* Understanding of Agile best practices (code reviews, unit tests, TDD).
* Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
* Experience collaborating in a Microsoft Teams environment.
* Knowledge of the Facilities Management industry.
* Experience delivering projects for public sector clients.
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or Engineering is preferred.
The role is based in Leatherhead and will be subject to hybrid working.
