Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday 8:30-4:30, with one 5:00 pm finish
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Practitioner to join our close-knit team as part of our ongoing growth.
About the role

The Pastoral Support Worker will work alongside teaching staff, parents/carers, and pupils to provide 1:1 mentoring and tutoring to specific pupils. The role aims to support pupils' achievement through targeted interventions and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team.
Responsibilities include supporting pupils' well-being, managing behavioral and attendance challenges, writing Support Plans, and collaborating with external agencies and parents/carers.
General Responsibilities
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils and young people
* Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure pupils in need receive appropriate support
* Support pupils during learning, break times, and lunchtimes, managing behavior and activities
* Participate in meetings related to pupil welfare
* Manage rewards and sanctions consistently and appropriately

New Barn School offers a broad curriculum for students aged 6–19 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. We utilize outdoor learning experiences and are located within accessible distance from Swindon, Oxford, Andover, Basingstoke, and Reading.
