With thousands of new enquiries each month, we’re the biggest claimant only employment only firm in the UK.
We're known for our commitment to access to justice, our cutting-edge legal tech, and our collaborative remote-first culture.
We’ve been incorporating AI into our work for 5 years, and were winners of the Law Society Award for Excellence in Technology & Innovation for this back in 2021.
We have a superb team of trainees that we are proud to say contribute hugely to the firm.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Employment Solicitor to join our team in a pivotal dual supervisory & legal practice role.
This is a unique opportunity for a senior practitioner who enjoys developing Newly Qualified Solicitors, while remaining engaged in practical employment casework.
The role will focus on supervising the legal output of the junior team - providing guidance & supporting their development as legal practitioners - whilst also having the opportunity to take on your own cases if you wish.
This person will play a key role in ensuring trainees deliver legally robust, well-reasoned and commercially sound advice, while continuing to develop their technical and practical legal skills in a structured training environment.
This role will not be concerned with case allocation/caseloads or process; instead this person will focus on the legal development of the team of Newly Qualified Solicitors.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Supervision & Practice Development
* Provide ad hoc legal supervision and guidance to Newly Qualified Solicitors, offering advice on case strategy & client-handling skills as and when support is requested
* Review draft legal documentation, including without prejudice correspondence, on an ad hoc basis
* Review Particulars of Claim from time to time for training and developmental purposes
* Contribute to the development of legal training and guidance on casework approach for new joiners
* Together with other senior team members, help build a training programme for Newly Qualified Solicitors that ensures they gain experience from a variety of casework and build a well-rounded legal skillset
Casework
Alongside the supervisory responsibilities outlined above, you will maintain autonomy over your own casework and manage a high-quality caseload of employment matters, advising clients across a broad range of disputes on a No Win No Fee basis.
You will have access to a consistent flow of matters and are encouraged to take ownership of cases aligned with your experience and professional interests.
Responsibilities include:
* Negotiating exit packages and settlement agreements
* Assisting clients with the preparation and progression of Employment Tribunal claims where appropriate
* Embracing and using our proprietary legal tech in your day-to-day work
About You
* Qualified solicitor or CILEX lawyer in England & Wales with significant post-qualification experience in employment law (typically 5+ PQE) - claimant side experience is required
* Experience in litigation
* Strong technical expertise in contentious employment matters
* Experience supervising junior lawyers, trainees or paralegals
* Tech-savvy with excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
* Commercially aware with strong client-handling skills
* A collaborative and supportive leadership style
Perks of working with us
* Opportunity to help develop the next generation of tech-enabled employment lawyers
* Clear influence within an ambitious & growing firm
* Competitive salary + commission, with reduced fee-earning targets reflective of supervisory responsibilities
* Leveraging tech innovation - we’re at the forefront of AI adoption in the legal industry
* Flexibility – real ability to shape your working hours and routines
* Autonomy & independence – you run your cases with the support of our tech-enabled workflows and processes and no partner layer; you work directly with clients
* Fully remote with the option to work from our London (Chancery Lane) office; we meet in person once a quarter for team days
* A friendly and supportive team
