Academic Support Assistant Location: York, North Yorkshire Salary: £83 - £100 per day Start Date: September 2025 GSL Education are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Academic Support Assistant at a Client School in York, North Yorkshire, starting in September 2025. Responsibilities: Provide high-quality support to students with a range of additional needs. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons. Support students in accessing learning and encourage independence through structured routines and personalised strategies. Deliver small group or 1:1 interventions. Help manage behaviour using a consistent and positive approach. Support with personal care and mobility. Requirements: Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Experience working with children or young people. Understanding of the barriers to learning experienced by students with SEND. Ability to work calmly and patiently, particularly in emotionally demanding situations. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
