Role Overview
The Pre‑Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing sales opportunities by leveraging storytelling, understanding the product strategy, engaging with customers, and effectively showcasing Nuix solutions to address pain points and drive business value. This role enhances the Nuix sales strategy by providing technical expertise and support during the sales process, demonstrating the value of our solutions, assessing business and technical needs, and collaborating with Sales Executives to facilitate informed decision‑making.
Client Development
* Partner with the Sales team to close new and upsell business by understanding pain points and showcasing Nuix‑aligned approaches.
* Drive and support large complex solution sales, generally >$250k ACV, focused mainly within the UK and Central Europe.
* Collaborate and win as a team (Pre‑Sales and Sales Reps) and support with knowledge sharing by mentoring others.
* Be part of a team that thrives in meeting and presenting to prospective customers.
* Conduct solution demonstrations for existing and prospective customers: onsite, at industry‑specific events or via teleconference.
* Educate prospective customers on Nuix offerings and solutions through events and marketing initiatives.
* Participate in meetings with customers and support Sales in handling objections or asking challenging questions to move sales opportunities forward.
* Align solutions with customer business problems through effective Technical Discovery and Scoping, including scoping work for large tenders/RFx.
Technical Proficiency and Collateral
* Bridge the gap between technical and non‑technical stakeholders, turning business and technical requirements into actionable outcomes.
* Be proficient in the Nuix technology stack, products and solutions and be hands‑on with technology.
* Design and deliver proof‑of‑concepts (PoCs) tailored to meet prospective customers’ business, functional and technical requirements following project‑management methodology.
* Design and deliver solutions to customers, including documentation of software/hardware recommendations and workflows, deployment of the Nuix solution, and knowledge transfer sessions.
* Maintain expert knowledge of Nuix solutions and workflows, including deployment and best practices.
* Generate presentations, project plans and other technical documentation as needed.
* Create and customise internal and external collateral to support customers’ use of Nuix solutions.
* Develop familiarity with common virtual and physical Nuix system configurations.
* Build expertise in customer and industry‑specific use cases and business challenges.
* Work with Professional Services and the wider technical community to maximise customer satisfaction and optimisation.
* Act as a link between customers and the Nuix product/development teams to drive solution development in alignment with the customer’s vision.
* Demonstrate Nuix behaviours at all times.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or a related business field.
* Minimum five years of experience in eDiscovery/Digital Forensics, including expertise with industry standards for processing, analysing and reviewing data.
* Experience with one or more platforms: Nuix, EnCase, FTK, Magnet, Axcelerate, Relativity, Clearwell, Concordance.
* Enterprise‑level business project experience with strong process, analysis, design and documentation skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills with superior verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and attention to detail to deliver high‑quality output while meeting deadlines.
* Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple time‑zones.
* Capability to manage competing priorities.
* Experience with SQL, virtualization (VMWare), ElasticSearch, or graph databases is beneficial.
* Expertise in one or more coding languages (Java, Python, Ruby) is beneficial.
* Fluency in EU languages—German, Spanish, French, Italian—is a plus.
