Working Supervisor - Agricultural Machinery
Location: Stockton-on-Tees | Pay: £18.50 - £20 per hour (DOE)
Overtime available on weekends
Are you an experienced technician ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a Working Supervisor to lead by example in a busy agricultural workshop. This is a hands-on role where you'll support the Service Manager, guide your team, and ensure top-quality service and repairs are delivered to customers.
Your Role
You'll split your time between supervising the workshop and working on the tools. You'll help coordinate daily operations, mentor technicians, and maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Supervisory Duties
Support and stand in for the Service Manager when needed.
Allocate tasks and manage workshop workflow.
Mentor and coach technicians, encouraging a "right first time" approach.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
Communicate with customers and provide diagnostic support.
Help develop team skills through training and task delegation.Technical Duties
Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on agricultural machinery both in the workshop and on-site.
Accurately complete timecards and service documentation.
Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex issues.
Ensure warranty parts are properly tagged and recorded.
Manage tool inventory and suggest additions when needed.
Collaborate with Sales, Parts, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
What You'll Bring
3-5 years' experience as a Service Technician (agricultural or similar industry).
Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Familiarity with John Deere or similar equipment is a plus.
Confidence using diagnostic tools and standard computer applications.
Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when required.
