EClinicalMedicine is a member of The Lancet’s family of world-renowned medical journals committed to publishing the best science for better lives. We are a small, collaborative, international team, handling a large volume of high-quality research, review and opinion submissions to drive thought leadership across all medical specialties. We build solid relationships with research communities to ensure we offer exciting, interesting, and thought-provoking content

About the Role

As an In-House Senior Editor, you will oversee the creation and publication of original content. You will take ownership for overseeing submissions and quality peer reviews to ensure we publish high-quality content. You will build global relationships with people and institutes in the medical and research.

Responsibilities

* Assessment of submitted manuscripts based on the journals scope and quality bar.
* Arranging peer review for selected papers and commissioning content;
* Scanning medical literature and news to keep up-to-date with developments;
* Attending conferences and academic meetings, along with laboratory and institutional visits;
* Writing editorials, commissioning reviews and publishing correspondence to build the journal’s profile among the communities we serve;
* Suggesting and helping to develop new initiatives for future developments and enhancements to our journal.

Requirements

* Have a Medical degree with clinical experience or PhD in related field with postdoctoral experience;
* Demonstrate great knowledge of biological and medical sciences;
* Have an exceptional command of the English language and the ability to write in an engaging and interesting manner;
* Be able to communicate and negotiate constructively with members of the medical profession, the media and colleagues;
* Have proficiency with IT systems including MS Office;
* Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives on-time;
* Have a natural ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our community;
* Be able to travel to internationally for meetings and conferences.
