Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of children with Down’s Syndrome?
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school team in Poulton-le-Fylde, providing essential 1:1 support to a pupil with Down’s Syndrome.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the individual needs of a pupil with Down’s Syndrome
* Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans and engaging activities
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
* Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and academic development
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor progress
* Assist with personal care tasks when required, ensuring dignity and comfort
* Encourage participation in classroom routines and wider school life
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with Down’s Syndrome or other special educational needs
* A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility and the ability to adapt to individual needs
* Relevant qualifications or SEN training (desirable but not essential)
