Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to work flexibly during the daytime, and some evenings/weekends.
Responsibilities
Ensure that the Liphook Village Hall is maintained to a good standard, and that all repairs are carried out, by the appropriate contractors, promptly
Be responsible for any minor servicing, maintenance and repairs of fixtures, fittings and equipment
Liaise with contractors and other workers on items of repair and maintenance
Arrange access to the sites for contractors and other authorised persons and monitor the work of contractors whilst on site
Ensure that all facilities are available and the rooms laid out in accordance with booking requirements, i.e., setting up tables, chairs, lighting, audio visual equipment etc.
Ensure that appropriate health and safety and security checks are carried out
Ensure full compliance with all fire regulations.
Carry out cleaning and janitorial tasks when required (there is a weekly cleaner)
Able and willing to work evenings and weekends as required
Act as a key holder
Carry out weekly checks of the fire and alarm systems and to take meter readings of all utilities
Carry out litter picks around the Village Hall on a regular basis
Skills
Able and willing to carry out instructions
Able to work flexibly and willing to be part of a small team
Ability to work on your own when required
Self-motivated and a problem solver
Previous experience in a caretaking (or similar) role useful
Awareness of general health and safety requirements for a business and the public and/or willing to undertake training
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Pay: Up to £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 3 per week
