Job Description

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council Youth Engagement and Participation Service is seeking to recruit a Youth Engagement Officer to facilitate the delivery of a high-quality Youth Engagement and Participation (YEP) Service.

This role includes supporting the authority in improving school attendance and attainment to enhance outcomes for young people in RCT, building their resilience and wellbeing. The officer will support schools in identifying and responding to disengagement issues and collaborate with other agencies and services supporting young people and their families facing complex difficulties affecting engagement and participation.

Requirements: You must have a minimum of Level 3 in Youth and Community Work and have experience working with young people. If you are committed to advancing this agenda, we welcome your application.

For more details, contact Ryan Strong, Team Manager, Youth Engagement and Participation Service, at 07881209539.

Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council.

In addition to safeguarding responsibilities, the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.

The Council values diversity and is committed to ensuring no unlawful discrimination occurs in the recruitment process based on age, sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, transgender status (including non-binary identities), religion or belief, pregnancy, or maternity. We offer various staff networks, including the Allies Network, a Disability and Carers Network, and Perthyn, our LGBTQ+ Network.

An application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than one in English.

As part of the Council’s strategy for Welsh language and workforce planning, Welsh-speakers of Level 3 and above are guaranteed an interview if they meet the essential criteria and choose to participate in the scheme.

Due to the high volume of applications, individual acknowledgments are not sent. If you do not hear from us within four weeks of the closing date, please assume your application was unsuccessful. Thank you for your interest.

The Council supports the Armed Forces community; applicants who are members of the Armed Forces, including Service Leavers, Veterans, or Reservists, and meet the essential criteria, will be offered an interview.
