We are looking for a driven and passionate Senior Practitioner who is committed to excellent standards of social work practice within their own work, but also in the context of developing others.
Our Assessment Teams are a rewarding but fast-paced environment to work in. The work is rich, varied and allows for a high level of multi-agency working, often to tight timelines. Senior Practitioners hold a complex caseload while supporting the team in relation to practice development and enabling the learning of others. The have a key role is assisting the Team Manager and taking on some leadership responsibilities, while driving practice standards in the team, embedding the Family Valued principles and the use of Motivational Interviewing.

You will have the opportunity to be creative in your work, contribute to Service development and will have the opportunity to have your ideas and voice heard. Peterborough Children's Social Care social work practice is underpinned by Family Valued principles, placing the voices of children and their families at the heart of our assessments and planning. We use Motivation Interviewing to create change and support families to develop their own solutions. As a Senior Practitioner, you will have a key role in embedding and championing these approaches.
Our team is supported by Children's Information and Advice Officers (CIAOs) and Business Support which makes administrative tasks much more manageable. You will also be supported by a permanent Team Manager, who will provide you with a consistent and reliable leadership.

You must:
Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
Have the ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently
Be able to hold a complex caseload of your own while proactively driving the performance and practice standards of the team and contributing to the development of others
