At Protocol Education, we’re looking for a compassionate, patient and proactive Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a welcoming and inclusive school setting. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who thrives on building relationships, celebrating small wins, and making every school day feel safe, positive and meaningful.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting pupils with autism on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Helping children feel regulated, engaged and confident in the classroom
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to deliver tailored support
* Using visual aids, sensory strategies and communication tools to support learning
* Encouraging independence, social interaction and emotional wellbeing
* Creating calm, consistent and positive learning environments
What we’re looking for:
* Experience supporting children or young people with autism
* A calm, nurturing and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
* Backgrounds in education, care, youth work or support work are all welcomed
Extra points if you have:
* Team Teach or positive behaviour support training
* Experience with PECS, Makaton or sensory integration strategies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
