The role
Salary: £28,000 - 30,000 per year Requirements: We want someone who lives and breathes Linux, ideally using it as their daily driver. We value strong self-taught Linux experience, whether with Arch, Debian, Gentoo, NixOS, or similar systems. We are looking for strong scripting and automation skills, especially with Bash, Python, and other tools you have learned. We want a demonstrable open-source background, such as GitHub projects, personal tools, contributions, dotfiles, or homelab setups. You should be pragmatic, curious, and enjoy solving problems in different ways. We require a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related subject. We want a fast learner with a strong drive to build a career in systems and software engineering. Bonus experience with containers such as Docker or Podman, orchestration, Ansible, or configuration management is welcomed. Bonus exposure to HPC, clustering, or high-performance systems is welcomed. Bonus web development experience, such as React, or Ruby experience is welcomed. You should be willing to travel occasionally within the UK for customer projects. Responsibilities: We research, design, and implement software that runs on Linux-based HPC and AI systems. We develop and automate tooling for large-scale Linux environments. We take hands-on ownership of design, implementation, testing, and delivery of our own projects. We work on real production supercomputing infrastructure. We participate in team meetings and present our work. We learn modern Linux engineering practices in a fast-moving environment.
