Vascular Nurse Specialist An opportunity has arisen for development of a Clinical Nurse Specialist role within the department of Vascular Surgery, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. As a development post, the successful candidate will actively be working toward competency in a wide range of vascular clinical skills, knowledge and abilities through a clearly defined framework and time-scale. The Vascular Nurse Specialist will manage a defined clinical caseload of vascular patients through delivery of one-stop outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary (MDT) discussion and inpatient care. The post holder will work at an advanced level of practice assessing, carrying out diagnostic investigations and advising appropriate management or arranging definitive care as required. Will be required to work within local and nationally agreed protocols and guidelines and hold advanced physical assessment skills. This post would be suitable for a developing a qualified nurse under the terms of Annex 21 Agenda for Change. This development opportunity, offers progression to full Band 7 remuneration following a 2-3 year structured development programme within the Annex 21 framework.
