Group Financial Controller

The CFO Practice is delighted to be partnering with a global, private equity-backed manufacturing business with revenues of circa £20m, headquartered in Milton Keynes. With operations spanning multiple countries and a proven track record of innovation, the company has firmly established itself as a leader in its field. As the business continues to expand, it is seeking a Group Financial Controller in a newly created role to lead financial operations across the group.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple jurisdictions, including the US, UK, France, Germany, Poland, Dubai, and India.
Group Financial Reporting
* Lead the delivery of timely and accurate weekly, monthly, and annual management reports, as well as statutory accounts.
* Consolidate group accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and relevant local GAAP requirements.
* Oversee year-end audit processes, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Financial Control & Compliance
* Maintain robust internal controls, continuously improving accounting policies and processes.
* Ensure timely completion and sign-off of balance sheet reconciliations.
* Oversee VAT, tax, and other regulatory filings, ensuring full compliance.
ERP & Systems Oversight
* Drive the implementation, enhancement, and optimisation of ERP systems across the group.
* Monitor system performance and integrity to ensure high-quality financial reporting.
Cash & Treasury Management
* Manage group-wide cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and payment approvals.
* Oversee credit facilities, corporate card management, and insurance renewals.
Team Leadership
* Lead, mentor, and develop the UK finance team, while supporting regional finance leads internationally.
* Chair weekly finance meetings and conduct regular performance reviews.
Strategic Support
* Partner with General Managers and the CFO to shape business plans and support key decision-making.
* Deliver financial insights and analysis to guide strategic initiatives, including M&A activity.
The Person
This is a high-profile opportunity to shape the financial future of a growing international business. The successful candidate will not only oversee the group's financial control framework but also act as a strategic partner to the leadership team.
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
* 10+ years' experience with strong SME exposure.
* Ideally manufacturing or assembly sector experience; physical product background essential.
* Strong technical finance expertise – IFRS, multi-currency consolidation, and audit.
* Hands-on cash flow, balance sheet, and working capital management.
* International, multi-site exposure.
* Proven leadership skills with experience of senior management and board-level stakeholder engagement.
* Commutable to Milton Keynes.
