As the Venues Sales Manager you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will lead, coach and inspire a talented Sales team, fostering a proactive sales mindset and collaborating across departments to achieve targets. This position is crucial in maintaining the venue's strong reputation for quality and long-standing relationships with leading UK businesses.
Responsibilities
* Lead, support and develop a team of conference sales professionals, ensuring exceptional service, enquiry rates, conversion and overall sales performance for the venue
* Oversee all enquiries, proposals and conversions for a diverse range of events and functions
* Drive conversion rates through coaching, training and the implementation of effective sales strategies
* Monitor team performance and support professional growth through regular one-to-ones and development plans
* Responsible for yield management for all conference and event facilities in the venue
* Work with the business development team on forecasting, driving the team and raising the conversion rate
* Lead the Sales team's input into weekly reviews, monitor booking pace and support meeting room and accommodation yield decisions
* Conduct weekly audits of sales data, encourage a proactive sales mindset
Qualifications
* Proven experience leading a successful sales team in a venue, hospitality, or events-based environment
* Hands-on experience with venue management systems
* Ability to analyse data and translate insight into action
* Confident communication skills with experience managing senior client relationships
* Natural leadership style that builds team capability
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and process consistency
* Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences with a genuine interest in client success
