South Tyneside Council is looking to recruit dedicated and motivated social workers to its Adult Learning Disability Team. This is an opportunity to join a passionate team of social workers and social care practitioners and work for an organisation that prides itself on collaborative working and delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred support.
The posts available are full‑time equivalent, but we are happy to consider applications for part‑time candidates.
You would be based in South Shields Town Hall and we do have a hybrid working policy and other offices within the borough that can be utilised.
As a social worker in the Learning Disability Team, your role would include:
* Working with young people from age 16 as they transition to adult social care
* Undertaking Care Act assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments and developing person‑centred, outcomes‑focused support plans with individuals and families from age 16 up over
* You will work closely with multi‑disciplinary colleagues from health, education and housing services
* You will have the opportunity to develop court report writing skills and be supported via training and experienced colleagues within the team
* Carrying out reviews to ensure outcomes are being achieved
