A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a mature lady with Cerebal Palsy living in the Llandaff North area of Cardiff. I spend a lot of my time in my powered wheelchair. I will always tell you what I want for my lunch as my tastes are quite simple but I don’t like spicy foods and they don’t like me. I like my P.A’s to have lunch with me and I enjoy their company. I love to go out in my car, I also enjoy shopping and going to the theatre. I love socialising with my friends and I love listening to music, I also have a karaoke machine.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The main purpose of the job is to allow me to remain safe in my home and promote my independence. My personal assistant will attend appointments with me as I have occasional hospital appointments and occasionally I get a little tongue tied. I am an individual who knows what I like and I will always want to have input to decisions.
PLACE OF WORK
At home and out in the community.
HOURS OF WORK
Cover is needed for PA's annual leave and sickness, for 24 hour shifts 8am until 8am the following day.
Flexibility is required.
RATE OF PAY
£13.15 per hour.
£127.10 per night.
TASKS INVOLVED
-All aspects of personal care and dressing.
1. All aspects of household chores including cooking and laundry
-Provide meals and have lunch with me.
-Companionship at home and in the community.
-Prompt medication.
-Emptying a super pubic catheter throughout the day and I have my night bag attached when I go to bed.
-Ensure I am always safe at home and out in the community.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Someone who is friendly and patient and willing to complete a manual handling course. Someone who knows about my condition and is understanding of it. Someone with a driving license is essential and flexible to cover additional shifts.
