* Job Role -
This job is a 40 hour contracted role, NEST opening hours are 4pm - 2am so any candidate must be prepared to work to a late finishes with predominately evening shifts. This role is a hands on approach working the majority of your hours leading from the front on the bar or running the venue. As the Bar Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the operations that lead to the success of the bar. Your duties will include organising staff rotas, being onsite to oversee customer satisfaction, quality of drinks and venue atmosphere, as well as stock control.
Responsibilities
* Being onsite as an integral team member across the majority of contracted hours to oversee staff teams and ensure the ongoing quality of service, atmosphere, drinks and food is adhered to and delivered
* Utilise the busy student season to increase both revenue and profits, identifying quieter periods and using creativity and innovation to implement ideas or events in order to boost sales
* Adhere to budgets regarding staff rota and stock control in order to maintain a high profit margin
* Overseeing the cleanliness of staff and the physical bar area and paying attention to possible health hazards and regulation violations, ensuring all legal requirements are adhered to
* Work with our in-house social media manager in creating content and supporting the venues social media channels

Experience running a high volume fast paced venue is essential
Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage staff
Ability to understand the student audience and deliver accordingly
Knowledge of alcohol and service laws and the confidence to enforce them among staff and customers
Understanding of stock management, drinks development and production
Strong organisational and communication skills
A genuine passion for customer service and the hospitality industry
Two years experience Bar Manager experience preferred, previous management experience necessary
