Job title: Personal assistant
Location: Ffos-Y-Ffin, Aberaeron
Hours of work: 8 hrs hours per week to be worked flexibly in line with the needs of the employer.
Rate of pay £15 per hour plus occasional mileage allowance on duty paid privately.
Introduction: A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to provide service to support a lady with learning disabilities both in her own home, and in the community. The direct payment will let her develop interests independent of her family, and gain confidence in learning daily living skills. The service user is quite shy and needs support to build her confidence and feel listened to when making decisions; she enjoys going out for coffee and shopping and she also enjoys swimming. The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance and will include some weekend working. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable this person with the right personal assistant to manage her support independently. Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence.
Main Duties
* Ensure service user is safe in his environment.
* To support with meals and drinks on duty
* Encourage and take part in activities.
* Provide support and guidance to develop independence skills.
* Assist them to attend social activities.
* To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
