What the Maintenance Planner will be doing
* Put safety first by identifying risks early and building proactive maintenance plans for short, medium, and long‑term asset care.
* Work closely with maintenance, scheduling, and supply chain teams to ensure the right materials and services are in place for planned work.
* Review and prioritise new maintenance tasks, aiming to minimise disruption to water treatment operations.
* Build and improve a library of job plans, adapting them with input from operations and engineering teams to boost asset reliability.
* Collaborate daily with schedulers and attend planning meetings to shape executable maintenance plans from one week to a year ahead.
* Request asset shutdowns when needed, report missed maintenance opportunities and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
What we are looking for in our Maintenance Planner
* Has deep maintenance knowledge and can accurately estimate time, materials, and skills needed for jobs.
* Understands plant operations, equipment, and health & safety processes inside out.
* Is confident using Microsoft Office and has a good grasp of SAP and MARS systems.
* Can apply root cause and failure analysis to solve problems effectively.
* Works well both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills across technical and non‑technical colleagues.
* Plans work logically and efficiently, making the most of available resources.
* Is familiar with industry safety standards and work authorisation procedures.
* Holds a full UK driving licence.
* Qualified to HNC/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation engineering, with hands‑on experience and a strong maintenance background in the water or similar industry is required for the Maintenance Planner.
