An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant to join our Ophthalmology team, with a subspecialist interest in glaucoma.
We work in a friendly team atmosphere with a diverse population in North West Norfolk, and we ensure close collaboration of all the consultants with regular fortnightly team meetings. There is a close working relationship with the managers of the service.
Responsibilities
* Provide ophthalmology services with a subspecialist focus in glaucoma.
* Collaborate with the team and attend regular fortnightly meetings with consultants and managers to support service delivery.
* Develop existing competencies in glaucoma interventional procedures and gain further experience in this area, with aim to achieve NICE guidelines and National Targets.
* Contribute to a department that undertakes glaucoma surgical procedures (including MIGS) and uses current equipment (SLT laser, Humphrey fields, OCT, retinal/disc photography).
* Support the department’s aim to listen, collaborate and work towards excellence for patients, and be flexible to develop and incorporate services within the existing infrastructure.
* Engage with organisational transformation and new systems, including the implementation of a new electronic patient record (EPR) from 2026 to improve joined-up care.
